A religion should not need to pretend its founder appeared from nowhere. The Continuance is a modern work. Thomas Arden is the pseudonymous writer and assembler responsible for its founding texts, sacred-literary architecture and public formulation.
There is no manufactured childhood calling, secret lineage, hidden teacher, supernatural appointment or claim of infallibility.
Experience may be real; interpretation is human and fallible.
Authority remains limited
Arden's writings can be read seriously without turning the writer into an object of devotion. No private revelation gives authority over another person. The tradition is designed to remain open to scrutiny, revision in its living structures, and ordinary forms of accountability.
The books matter more than biography
